The installer will the install Forge. After you have installed it, it will be available as a new version to select in your Minecraft launcher. You can then create a new launcher profile and select the installed Forge version. With this new profile I recommend you change the game directory path, this can be any folder on your PC. This is where mods, worlds, logs, etc.
This will allow you to keep your Forge installation separate from vanilla Minecraft keeping worlds separate and will even allow you to have multiple modded instances e. Yeah, I thought it had to be in the. I got rid of the old mods folder by deleting it, and I was hoping that when I reinstalled Forge again it wouldn't create two mod folders, but for some reason it made all those folders in another mod folder and I don't know why because I deleted the original mod folder. The "Download latest file" is pretty stupid, in my honest opinion. Post links to the mods you downloaded and updated logs. Those mods should work. Please post the debug log as described in the EAQ. And now a screenshot of your mods folder.
Forge does not find any mods in there. Mods need to be put into the "mods" folder. No, Forge definitely does not do that. This topic is now closed to further replies. Go to topic listing. The first and most common reason why Forge might not be working in your game is that you have the Windows version of the game installed on your PC.
Unfortunately, Forge only runs in the Java version of the game. This is why the Windows version does not feature mods. In this case, you will have to buy the Minecraft Java version. Doing so will successfully allow you to install and use Forge in your game. We are sorry but there is no way you can run Forge on any version except Java.
Another compulsory thing for installing Forge is that its version should match the version of the game. If they are different, then Forge will simply not work. Once you have found it, simply download and install that version in your game. Make sure you restart the game at least once after installing the Forge. Hopefully, Forge should be working for you now. If not, then move on to the next step. If you have done both of the two mentioned steps, then we suggest you try a fresh install of both your game and Forge.
Before doing so, wipe or remove all the mods that you have installed in your game If any. Now, simply start downloading and installing both Minecraft and Forge. Restart the game, and select your profile back to Forge. We have seen a few cases where updating the game results in Forge not working anymore. This may also be due to the fact that your game no longer matches the Forge version. To do so, open your Minecraft launcher and go to the Profile Editor tab. Select the Forge profile. Under the advanced section, you will see two tick boxes at the bottom, labeled as JVM arguments and Executables.
Tick both of them.
