For local file synconization, if you happen to have a song tagged on your computer that is also in the Spotify library, but certain information differs, sometimes it can mess up the sync and playback process.
This might be because your local version of the song is actually the extended edition or live version , but isn't tagged as such, so Spotify thinks it's the regular edition. Ultimately, this can cause playback or sync issues because of the differing track lengths. I've experienced this myself with certain Pink Floyd and The Who tracks, because there are multiple version of the same track in my local song library.
The best way to resolve this issue is to remove the Local File from your local song library and add Spotify's version of the song to the playlist you'd like to sync to your phone.
